In January 2016, Bette celebrated 50 years with Atherleys Bakery.

Starting in 1966, Better worked for William and Vera Atherley working in the shop and driving the vans on local deliveries. We had a small celebration in the shop with local customers and some who had travelled from further afield especially to see her.
